Access Support Services Inc. (ABN 66 017 393 488) ("Access", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, accessnq.org.au, how we use it, and how you can contact us about it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
This policy covers the website only. Information you provide to us as a participant, family member or employee is handled under our organisational privacy and confidentiality procedures, which you can request from us at any time.

What we collect and why
We only collect personal information that you choose to give us, and only for the purpose you gave it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to.
Contact and call-back forms
When you use the contact form, request a call back or ask a question through the FAQ page, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if given) and your message. This is emailed to our office so we can respond. We keep these enquiries only as long as needed to reply and follow up, then delete them.
Job applications
When you apply through the Working With Us page, we collect your name, contact details, your message and any résumé you attach. Applications are emailed to our recruitment team. Unsuccessful applications may be kept for up to 12 months so we can contact you about future vacancies, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Event reminders
If you sign up for a reminder about an event on our What's On page, we store your email address and the event you chose so we can send you a reminder shortly before it. Every reminder email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and your address is removed once you unsubscribe or the event has passed.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your name and email address on this website only. We do not share the list with any third-party marketing platform. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe by emailing us.
Secure documents
Our secure documents service lets approved people view a document and return a completed form. We collect your name, email address and reason for the request, and any information or files you include in the form. Completed forms and attachments are emailed to the responsible staff member and are not stored on the website. Access codes are single-use and expire after use.
Website statistics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are popular and whether visitors are on a phone or a computer. This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics is configured with IP address anonymisation and with advertising features turned off. It does not tell us who you are. You can prevent this collection with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses:
- Google Analytics cookies (
_gaand similar), which give your browser an anonymous identifier so repeat visits can be counted. They do not contain your name or contact details. - Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects our forms from spam and automated abuse. It may set a short-lived cookie while checking that you are a real visitor.
- Browser storage for your preferences, such as the text size you chose in the accessibility tool and whether you have dismissed a notice. This stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Videos and social posts embedded from YouTube and Instagram are served by those platforms, which may set their own cookies when you interact with them. Their handling of that information is covered by Google's privacy policy and Meta's privacy policy.
The site works without cookies. You can block or delete them in your browser settings at any time.
Who we share information with
We use a small number of service providers to run this website. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Resend delivers the emails generated by our forms, reminders and newsletter.
- Cloudflare provides the Turnstile spam check on our forms.
- Google provides Google Analytics and hosts embedded YouTube videos.
- VentraIP hosts this website in Australia.
Some of these providers operate servers outside Australia. We do not otherwise disclose your personal information overseas. We will only share personal information beyond this where you have consented or where the law requires it.
How we keep it secure
The website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are delivered by email rather than stored on the website wherever possible, and where information is stored, such as reminder and newsletter sign-ups, it is kept on our Australian-hosted server and accessible only to authorised staff. Staff access to the website's management tools is protected by individual logins and two-factor authentication.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Contact our Privacy Officer:
- Email: hello@accessnq.org.au
- Phone: (07) 4773 9521
- Post: Privacy Officer, Access Support Services, 113 Thuringowa Drive, Kirwan QLD 4817
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can put it right. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add a new service to the website. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
